SAP is constantly evolving, and in this project an entire floor had to be furnished.

To facilitate creative problem solving one room was dedicated to the design thinking methodology. This approach requires participants to first think outside the box – to come up with crazy ideas before narrowing down and filtering them. The vision for the room was to encourage this process: to encourage play, and make people fearless of expressing their ideas.

Solution

Everything in the room invites participants to get on their feet and put ideas on the white board: it's easy to go from sitting on a tall stool to stand up and walk to the board. The small tables on wheels with smaller white boards can be used for splitting the team into smaller groups to work in different directions.

Custom reconfigurable white boards make for a dynamic setting that can be changed to the needs of the group: if a shelf or a penholder is in the way it can be moved. The smaller white boards can be hung onto the larger ones to create a mosaic of dynamic ideas.

The static tables of the room are shaped in a non-traditional way to encourage thinking differently: a table doesn't look like a table in this space!
